1967 Chevrolet Corvette
1967 Corvette Stingray. White over teal blue interior. 409 horsepower with a four-speed overdrive transmission. Forty-six year ownership. Body-off effort by owner, including paint, in my home garage. Car was winter driven for many years, and used to haul supplies and a ladder for my business.
My 1967 Corvette coupe has been in my garage for 46 years (two years seniority on my wife). The original 327/300/powerglide combo lasted over 350,000 mostly trouble-free miles and has been replaced with a 350/TH700R4. The 409 horsepower is dyno-proven. It has power steering, power brakes (4-wheel disc), teal blue leather interior, and factory side exhaust. The sound system has been upgraded with an AM/FM/CD. Suspension has minor improvements and red-line radials for improved handling. Lighting has been improved with LED components. The overdrive transmission and increased sound deadening help minimize (a little) the noise of the side exhaust. Color is PPG base/clear 2014 Corvette white with 1967 teal blue hood stinger, all color sanded to 3000 grit and buffed. Car has been featured in Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine and a 2006 Corvette calendar.

About the Owner: Donato
I've been a car nut all my life. I drag-raced a 1969 Nova for three years (1971 - 1974) and have owned everything from AMC to Ford to GM to Mopar. I was fortunate to work as an automotive cartoonist for Vette Vues magazine for ten years, and also do feature stories, technical articles, art, and photography for a series of car magazines such as Vette Vues, Muscle Car Review, Mopar Muscle, Street Rodder, and Corvette Fever. I do most of my own work at home in a fairly well-equipped garage. My cars are all body-off efforts and I also do my own paint work. I enjoy car shows, particularly talking to owners about their own efforts, and appreciate all makes and models.
