1949 chevy 3600 3/4 ton stake truck
1949 chevy 3600 3/4 ton stake box truck. Lambrecht Chevy auction survivor! pontiac sprint motor, 1/4 sawn white oak stake box
mader came to us from pierce nebraska in 2013 from the lambrecht chevy auction. he was traded in in 1954 and sat in a soybean field untilthe auction. once we got him home we cleaned off some of that nebraska mud to find the body in really great shape except where the floor boards rusted out due to open windows. the engine was froze so when looking for something different we came across a 1967 pontiac sprint motor. yes we got it in there with a little modifications to the firewall. we also needed to turn the brake set up so as not to get it hot over the carburetor. the back stake box was custom made with 1/4 sawn whiteoak. it has 6 coats of lacquer on it with sanding between coats. it is the best piece of furniture on the truck! we painted the truck ourselves which involved the wife a little, since ryon had shoulder surgery and could not do the complete sweeps needed everywhere. it took us 5 years to complete the project.
